The first meeting of the semester was spent regrouping and discussing what our focus would be for the coming weeks. Last semester, unfortunately, we failed to communicate with our contacts in Nicaragua resulting in very little progress being made. After learning from last semester we will now spend the first few weeks of this semester establishing contact with an organization working in Latin America. Over winter vacation four organizations (2 in Guatemala and 2 in Bolivia) expressed interest in partnering with us to provide clean water for rural, impoverished communities. In today’s meeting we discussed each organization and the work that they do. The possibility of switching countries seems likely. We also discussed organizational matters such as making subgroups within the team to keep everything running smoothly.
